Yakitori skewers are thin, pointy and smooth finish skewers, designed to hold pieces of chicken and other ingredients for grilling. They are usually around 12 to 14 inches long, allowing for multiple pieces to be threaded on each skewer. Their lightweight and sturdy design makes them ideal for grilling, ensuring even cooking while providing a convenient way to serve and enjoy these delicious bites.
Flat stainless steel shish kabob skewers are a great option for heavier and larger pieces. Their flat design prevents food from spinning while cooking, ensuring even grilling for meats and vegetables alike.
Koobideh Persian Kabob is a delicious dish made from ground lamb or beef, seasoned with spices, and shaped onto skewers for grilling. The skewers are designed to hold the meat securely while allowing it to cook evenly over an open flame. Crafted sturdy materials, these skewers ensure that the meat retains its shape, making them essential for achieving the perfect grill marks. However, mastering the technique of using koobideh skewers is not recommended for beginners.
Double prong skewers provide enhanced stability for holding larger pieces of meat, preventing them from spinning or falling off during cooking. Ideal for quarter chicken or steak like cuts.
Placing a mesh grate on top of the Chushi set creates a buffer between your food and the direct heat source. By placing the mesh grate above the heat, you allow for indirect cooking, which is ideal for larger cuts of meat that require longer cooking times, reverse sear, or smoking. It promotes even cooking and prevents burning and overcooking as the heat circulates around the food while keeping it at a safe distance from the flames.
You can use your regular grill to smoke meat or add smoke flavors using a smoker tube, a mesh grate, with the Chushi Set. Be carefull to use the right flames to control the grill heat.
